Fallen Likeness: Made Me Cry

I was reading Genesis 1:26:

And God said, "Let us make man in our likeness."

I couldn't make it pass this verse during my devotional time yesterday. I just stopped at the word 'likeness' and wept. I cried until the tears fell down my cheek, wetting the top of my shirt. How far have we fallen from His likeness?
